Bespoke Buyer
About the role
As an integral part of our Bespoke purchasing team, you will be responsible for selecting suitable suppliers and securing the supply of low-volume Bespoke components.
Responsibilities:
* Select suitable suppliers and secure the supply of low-volume Bespoke components.
* Review new component designs and find appropriate suppliers who can deliver the required new products.
* Understand vehicle component purchasing and new product development.
* Source new and innovative low-volume suppliers capable of meeting client's exacting quality standards.
* Analyze costs and agree prices with suppliers to achieve the best possible value for money, considering design, volume, and timing constraints.
* Apply project management principles to ensure all parts are supplied to the required quality standard and within the planned delivery timeline.
* Resolve supplier challenges proactively and adopt a collaborative approach to developing business relationships.
* Work collaboratively with other team members within the Bespoke team (Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, Design) to deliver key new features to our Bespoke clients.
Requirements:
* University degree in Business Management, Procurement & Logistics, or Engineering (or equivalent relatable subjects).
* CIPS qualification would be advantageous.
* Good interpersonal skills with an ability to influence key stakeholders.
* Professional experience in Purchasing or Supplier Quality Management at an Automotive Manufacturer or tier 1 Automotive supply chains.
* Proven track record of delivery within a multi-project engineering environment and experience managing and leading purchasing and/or parts quality teams.
* Experience managing professional supplier selection processes and commercial negotiations.
* Knowledge of Automotive best practice tools and methods utilized in the sourcing & industrialization of products.
* Familiarity with accreditations such as ISO9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 (formerly 18001), TS16949.
* Experience in project management and understanding of new product development processes.
* Knowledge of Automotive Manufacturing Processes for interior/exterior/electrical components with the ability to select appropriate processes and tooling options for low and medium volume manufacturing.
* Experience managing the end-to-end production component purchasing process within an automotive NPI environment.
* Good problem-solving ability required to overcome problems arising from specific cost, quality, and time issues.
International Travel:
* Once every two months, Europe and UK.
Skills and Experience:
* CIPS Level 4 is a bonus.
* Automotive experience is important.
* High volume purchasing experience.

* Hourly rate, in-scope IR35, £45 per hour (via a Hays approved umbrella company) or £30 per hour via Hays PAYE.
* This role provides remote working access from the comforts of your own home and only going to our state-of-the-art office in Chichester 2-3 days per week.
