Overall purpose
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Systems Analyst. This individual will play a key role in ensuring that our department's systems are fully aligned with business needs, identifying opportunities for improvement, and leading the implementation of new solutions. The Compliance Systems Analyst will be responsible for mapping out department system requirements, assessing system effectiveness, identifying gaps in functionality, and managing the testing and rollout of new and enhanced systems, including third-party integrations.
Key accountabilities
System Needs Mapping
1. Work with the Head of Compliance, compliance managers and the policy team to define a list of business requirements.
2. Work with the business analysts and developers to prioritise compliance systems and product work, leading to the creation of a ‘roadmap’. Provide high level specifications to enable developers to size the work for each requirement.
3. Track progress against the roadmap and report to senior stakeholders, escalating any issues that may impact business performance.
Creating systems specifications
1. Work with Business Analysts and relevant stakeholders within the compliance department to create specifications for any systems changes.
2. Review development progress regularly and provide feedback regarding how it meets business requirements.
3. Maintain detailed understanding of the UK Waste Regulations in order to inform systems decisions.
System Effectiveness Assessment
1. Regularly evaluate existing systems and tools to ensure they are meeting business and customer needs, using tools such as mouseflow.
2. Identify gaps where system development or improvements are necessary to improve efficiency, functionality, or user experience. Work closely with the development team or external vendors to translate business needs into actionable system requirements.
User Acceptance Testing
1. Test all new systems before they go live, checking that they meet the department’s needs.
2. Organise other relevant stakeholders to test systems as they are being developed.
System Rollout
1. Inform the department of the rollout of new systems or upgrades and providing training on this, ensuring a smooth transition.
2. Prepare and deliver training materials, provide support during the implementation phase, and ensure user adoption.
Third-Party System Integration
1. Manage the integration of third-party systems, such as appcues, and ensure seamless connectivity between internal and external platforms.
2. Collaborate with vendors and IT teams to ensure that integration requirements are met and that systems operate efficiently together.
Investigate use of AI
1. Research potential AI uses that would benefit the department. Where there are clear benefits to using AI tools work to roll this out.
2. Assist with any projects that look to build the use of AI or automation into the Compliance Department’s current processes.
Requirements
1. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including business leaders, IT, and third-party vendors.
2. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
3. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details into business language.
4. Experience with systems testing, quality assurance processes, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
5. Excellent organisational skills.
6. Strong understanding of compliance processes and how they are supported by systems.
7. Knowledge of system integration, third-party platforms, and APIs.
