HV Project Manager
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000; subject to experience
Location: Cambridgeshire with travel required between two sites in Cambridgeshire & Wrexham (current project sites) with paid accommodation covered for working away from home.
MUST BE WILLING TO WORK AWAY FROM HOME IF YOU ARE NOT BASED IN CAMBRIDGESHIRE

ROLE OVERVIEW
* To optimise the performance through the effective management of two site projects from allocation by the Commercial team to completion.
* This role will involve overseeing a multimillion-pound scheme ongoing in Cambridgeshire, and a 33kV ICP Connection ongoing in Wrexham with other HV Schemes coming on board all the time.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
* Experienced in managing large/multiple projects in the construction or electricity industries.
* Thorough Understanding of NEC Contracts.
* Knowledge of HAUC
* Sound knowledge of H&S and its practical implications.
* Knowledge of CDM regulations.
* Qualification in Project Management.
* Sound project management skills and methodology.
* Degree or equivalent in electrical or civil engineering (or demonstrable level of achievement through experience).
* Good people management skills.
* Computer literate – skilled in the use of Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Project.
CERTIFICATED IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
* NRSWA Supervisors Card.
* SMSTS.
* SHEA Power.
* First Aid.
* Manual Handling.
* Driving.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Project Management:
* Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of the company and its customers.
* Manage multiple and/or major projects safely, competently, and effectively to time, quality and budget.
* Ensure all sub-contracts are approved in line with company policies.
* Ensure projects meet all current legislation CDM, HASAWA, NRSWA C.O.S.H.H. etc.
* Assist in costing schemes for quotations as required.
* Identify and inform Company Directors of commercial opportunities as appropriate.
* Review and monitor programme schedule using Project Management tools.
Health and Safety:
* Implement company, and customer, safety rules, instructions, standing orders and procedures.
* Prepare project safety and CDM plans and Risk Assessments as part of overall programme.
* Actively monitor teams within your line management responsibility (under LQP.407).
* Ensure Risk Assessments are carried out at all stages of a project (design, planning, generic and Daily On Site).
* Ensure that all statutory records, certificates, licenses, notifications and notices are in place.
* Conduct site safety inspections and complete associated paperwork.
* Ensure that accidents and near misses are suitably reported, recorded and investigated, and that remedial action is carried out promptly.
* Report any concerns regarding SHE to the SHE team and your Regional Manager.
Planning and Organising:
* Take an overview of projects to be completed and allocate resources accordingly.
* Timetable activities within projects including provision of dates to S.A.P. engineers for projects.
* Liaise with customers to manage critical dates.
* Provide timely updates of the Programme as required in line with Business Objectives.
People:
* Work with teams to ensure safe, effective and efficient implementation of company operations.
* Contribute to the wider team: advise, and share knowledge and experience based on expertise.
* Liaise with colleagues across the organisation to ensure effective completion of tasks.
* Manage and review the performance of staff reporting to you and identify training needs.
Customers:
* Represent the company to customers and individuals from other companies.
* Establish and maintain good relationships with customers and other external parties.
* Deal with all issues arising including investigation and resolution of customer complaints.
* Liaise with the public to ensure smooth implementation of work.
Quality Control:
* Implement the company's approach to Quality in all you do and complete all work to high standards.
* Identify and implement areas of improvement in company processes and operations.
* Ensure working practices and processes are followed.
* Ensure all ITPs are completed to the correct standard.
