About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Water Service Planning team as a Technical Advisor: Permitting and Compliance. This critical role has the opportunity to make a real difference in environmental protection and will be at the heart of further minimising pollution risk, ensuring environmental compliance and managing regulatory relationships.
As our environmental permitting specialist, you'll support operational teams in the Northumbrian Water region to maintain the highest environmental standards. This means you’ll proactively identify and mitigate potential pollution risks.
Building trust and collaborative relationships across internal multiple teams and external stakeholders is key to this role.
You will lead on environmental permit applications and renewals for our water directorate, working with operational teams to demonstrate continual improvement and minimise the risk of permit non-compliance.
In addition, you’ll partner and build relationships with the Environment Agency to ensure permit applications are considered duly made first time.
About You:
If you're passionate about environmental protection and ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role, we want to hear from you!
You’ll use your excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to influence at all levels to ensure any future improvement measures are successfully implemented.
Proven ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, especially regulators, and strong resilience in managing competing priorities is key to this role.
You may have knowledge of the water industry and environmental regulatory framework.
The successful candidate will have a full clean driving licence as travel to operational sites across the northeast region will be required for audit and operational meetings.
If this sounds like the role for you, apply today.
Interviews will take place online on Tuesday 25 March 2025.
