We are supporting one of our clients based in Southend-On-Sea, who are a manufacturing company who produces bespoke seating products for the cinema sector, delivering to clients around the world. Role Overview: As the Financial Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and directing all financial aspects of our manufacturing operations. You will provide strategic financial leadership, ensuring sound financial management practices, guiding key decisions, and driving profitability across the business. This role requires deep knowledge of manufacturing finance, cost accounting, budgeting, and financial planning in a complex and evolving industry. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s long-term goals and growth in the manufacturing sector. Oversee financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. Manage the company’s cash flow, working capital, and financial risk, optimizing financial performance across all manufacturing operations. Provide strategic advice and guidance to senior management, making recommendations based on financial analysis and industry trends. Supervise and lead the finance team, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, accurate financial reporting, and compliance with regulations. Work closely with operations and production teams to track cost control measures, analyze variances, and ensure manufacturing costs align with budgeted expectations. Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants to ensure timely and accurate audits, tax filings, and financial disclosures. Lead financial analysis and performance metrics related to product profitability, cost reduction initiatives, and capital investments. Stay up-to-date on relevant industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in financial management and manufacturing. Key Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA, CFA, or MBA is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of financial leadership experience, with a strong background in the manufacturing sector. Deep understanding of manufacturing cost structures, including cost of goods sold (COGS), inventory management, and cost accounting methods. Proven experience in financial forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, tax compliance, and regulatory requirements. Hands-on experience in financial systems, ERP software, and advanced Excel functions. Excellent strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders. Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience building and developing high-performing teams.
