A growing construction company based in Basildon are looking for a Bookkeeper/Office Assistant to join them in a busy and varied role. They are looking to grow the business further and are passionate about making a nice office environment and being an employer of choice.
Your new role
This position would suit someone who is confident working autonomously in transactional accounts and has ideally worked within the construction industry, so you have an understanding of CIS. The role is varied from sales invoicing, credit control, subcontractor invoicing, verification and dealing with queries. Purchase ledger, reconciling supplier statements, preparing payment runs, processing staff expenses, banking, bank reconciliations, VAT returns, liaising with HMRC and general bookkeeping. Alongside this, general administration includes monitoring the company inbox, managing the company fleet for insurance, servicing and vehicle tax, answering the telephone and taking messages, managing the stationery and ad-hoc duties.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be someone who is an accomplished accounts professional, happy to work in a sole charge accounts role as part of a friendly and small office. The role is office-based, so someone within commutable distance of Basildon is required.
