Cover Supervisor Our client Secondary School is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their team starting from February. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising students during any absences of their teachers, ensuring that lessons continue in a productive and orderly manner. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and have a strong desire to make a positive impact on students’ learning experiences. This position will start from Monday 24th February, and run full-time until the end of the academic year (July 2025). Responsibilities • Deliver preplanned lessons to classes in the absence of the teacher. • Manage student behaviour in accordance with the school’s policies and procedures. • Provide support and guidance to students as needed. • Mark students’ work and record progress in line with school policies. • Liaise with subject teachers regarding student progress and behaviour. • Set up classrooms for lessons and ensure resources are available. • Complete administrative tasks related to cover supervision, such as register taking and recording attendance. Requirements • A minimum of GCSE grade C or equivalent qualifications in English and Mathematics. (Or equivalent qualifications) • Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting is desirable but not essential. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this role as you will be interacting with students, teachers, and other staff members regularly. • A commitment to safeguarding children’s welfare is essential as you will be working unsupervised at times with small groups of students. • Flexibility to work across various subjects is desirable but not essential as training can be provided if necessary.
