Pembroke College, Oxford, is seeking a motivated and diligent individual to join our team as a Maintenance Assistant. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop practical skills while contributing to the upkeep and improvement of our historic college environment.
Working Hours: Normal working hours are 40 hours per week Monday to Friday; with some weekend shifts and occasional evening work.

Role Responsibilities
1. Perform High-Quality Maintenance: Execute various tasks with attention to detail, ensuring that all repairs and installations meet college standards.
2. Event and Facility Preparation: Assist in setting up spaces for conferences, events, and daily operations, keeping our campus welcoming and ready for every occasion.
3. Contribute to Preventative Maintenance: Play an active role in routine maintenance and small projects that help prevent issues and maintain the longevity of college facilities.
4. Maintain Safety Standards: Follow health and safety protocols rigorously and contribute to a tidy, secure work environment.
Development and Training Opportunities
1. Learn craft skills, e.g. painting and decorating and plumbing.
2. Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH.
What We're Looking For
1. Qualifications: GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or higher).
2. Experience: Prior experience in maintenance or a similar role is desirable; practical skills and familiarity with tools are advantageous.
3. Attributes: A strong work ethic, reliability, and a basic understanding of health and safety practices.
4. Physical Capability: Comfortable working at heights and able to meet the physical demands of the role.
