Cygnet Group are looking for an outstanding Cook who's passionate about food and wants to make a difference to join our team at Cygnet Wast Hills. You'll be working 40 hours a week from (07:00 till 17:00 inc Alternative Weekends) at Cygnet Wast Hills (Kings Norton, Birmingham), creating an excellent experience for the people in our care.
Located in Kings Norton, Birmingham, Cygnet Wast Hills provides support for 21 individuals with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs. The team can also support individuals who may be detained under the Mental Health Act, as well as those who have complex behaviours, or who have significant difficulties with social engagement. We accept emergency referrals and the team is experienced in managing them quickly and efficiently to ensure the transition for the individual is as smooth as possible.

Job responsibilities
* Prepare, cook & serve nutritional, balanced and appetising meals
* Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet patients' nutritional & dietary needs
* Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room
* Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and Food Hygiene Regulations
* Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
* Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations

You are...
* Experienced Cook used to working in a team environment (Essential)
* Previous Healthcare Experience (Desirable)
* Able to plan nourishing & attractive menus within available budgets
* Must hold an up-to-date Food & Hygiene Certificate (Essential)
* Strong knowledge of COSHH (Essential)
* Experienced in dealing with multi-dietary requirements and allergens
* Polite & professional (Essential)
* Able to work under your own initiative, as part of a team & under supervision
