About the role
As an individual with a Youth Worker background, you will be working as a Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a positive and supportive learning environment for students in secondary schools. You will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring that students remain engaged with the pre-set work, and managing classroom behaviour effectively.
This role is ideal for individuals with a background in youth work who are looking to expand their experience within the educational sector. If you are passionate about working with young people and have the skills to inspire and manage a classroom, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise classes across a range of subjects during teacher absences.
* Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure that students stay on task.
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies.
* Provide support and guidance to students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Work closely with school staff to ensure a smooth and effective learning experience for all students.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Youth Worker you will:
* Previous experience working with young people, ideally in a youth work or educational setting.
* Strong classroom management skills.
* Ability to engage and motivate students.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A proactive and flexible approach to work.
* Ability to obtain suitable references, a valid DBS Check and hold the Right to Work in the UK (ABC Teachers do not offer sponsorship)
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
* experience in a similar position or 5 days in sole charge of a group of children in the last 10 years.
