Position Summary Tax Consultant II - Sustainability, Climate & Equity – Tax Governance and Transparency The Tax Governance and Transparency team, part of Sustainability, Climate & Equity (SC&E), is growing and requires innovative, and engaging professionals to join our team. Rapid adoption of ESG standards, top-down pressures on tax, as well as evolving tax governance and transparency standards are heightening our clients’ demand for more formal tax governance, a tax narrative, and disclosure of jurisdictional tax data. Through our services, we help our clients analyze their readiness, implement a plan, and assist narrative around ESG efforts. As a Tax Consultant within the Tax Governance and Transparency practice, you will provide support on mapping and analyzing data, testing internal controls, developing workplans for governance maturity and gaps, and helping to grow the practice. Responsibilities will include: Mapping out tax processes including identifying, designing, benchmarking and testing internal controls both for SOX and broader tax risk management purposes Implementing strategies to help organizations identify, extract, analyze and present tax data to internal and external stakeholders – including mapping, modeling and dashboarding Helping clients build out their tax transparency reporting by reference to stakeholders and their needs, regulatory and ESG drivers, existing tax risks and tax profile issues and the demands of ESG standards and raters Analyzing organization’s tax governance maturity and gaps versus standards and global regulations on good practice including tax policies, processes, risk frameworks procedures, controls, and RACI as part of readiness and/or internal audit exercises Supporting the growth of our team and creating materials for a developing practice including standardizing templates and meeting the new demands organizations are facing in this emerging area of the profession Researching technical and industry-specific issues Qualifications Required: Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field from reputed University with 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in US Tax Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate towards a solution Strong Microsoft Office and other technology skills such as Excel, PPT, Visio Preferred: Detail-orientated with proven experience working with Excel Ability to balance multiple priorities, prioritize amongst them and communicate/escalate matters proactively Understanding of basic tax accounting concepts and SOX General understanding of data applications used to extract reports (Power BI, Alteryx, Automation) General understanding of ERP systems and data extraction Understanding of and interest in the ESG and the evolving landscape of Tax Transparency Process mapping and process improvement strategy Experience working in a virtual and/or global environment Previous Big 4 experience Good research and writing skills Good presentation and communications skills Location : Hyderabad | Work Timing : 11 AM to 8 PM IST How You’ll Grow At Deloitte, we’ve invested a great deal to create a rich environment in which our professionals can grow.
