Special Education Needs Tutor - Peterborough
Remedy are looking for tutors to support SEN children though out the day, these students have various disabilities such as ASD, SEMH, Learning disabilities, PMLD, Visually impaired.
This role is perfect for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who are eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with a variety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner, to raise their engagement and drastically improve the outlook of their educational journey.
The SEN / SEND Tutor Role
This role will involve providing Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD / SLD), or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
These young people are referred to us by local authorities and schools and will require some level of support in their educational and social-emotional journey
If selected, your role will be to provide this support via flexible and holistic trauma-informed tutoring and mentoringTo be a SEN Tutoryou will need:
QTS;or at least 1 years experience teaching and working with SEN
At least 2 years' experience working with SEN special educational needs such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, ADD, PDA, dysgraphia, and global developmental delay;
A proven record of being able to heighten pupil's confidence, self-esteem and love of learning;
100% passion for education, commitment, reliability and honesty;
To creatively apply differentiated techniques to planning and teaching;
Excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills;
Incredible patience;
An excellent knowledge of different learning styles and how to use these;
The ability to deal with possible behaviour issues;
A Enhanced DBS on the update service;
A willingness to apply for public liability and professional indemnity insurance;
