Job description
Job Title: Health and Safety Coordinator (Agricultural, Livestock, Real Estate, AI Technology, and Renewable Energy)
Accountable for strategizing, executing, and supervising the organisation’s health and safety protocols, processes, and initiatives spanning the entirety of our operations, encompassing farms, properties, and offices. Ensuring alignment with legal requirements and industry benchmarks, the role extends support as a business partner through cooperative efforts, serving as a subject matter expert across relevant domains. The primary objective is to guarantee the safety and welfare of employees, visitors, and contractors while instilling a culture of safety excellence.
Duties:
1. Collaborate in formulating, implementing, and sustaining health and safety policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with applicable regulations and optimal industry practices.
2. Execute thorough risk assessments, operational controls, and standard operating procedures.
3. Ensure routine health and safety discussions occur among all staff, facilitated by managers.
4. Disseminate policies, procedures, and documentation to all personnel.
5. Supervise the training regimen, organizing, conducting, and validating training sessions, encompassing specific skills (e.g., Forklift operation, First Aid, Teleporter handling, Fire Marshall duties, COSHH awareness).
6. Perform regular safety inspections and audits across sites to identify hazards.
7. Conduct follow-up visits to ensure timely closure of corrective actions, ensuring compliance with both company policies and external standards.
8. Collaborate with management and staff to nurture a culture of heightened safety awareness and individual accountability.
9. Ensure the establishment of fire risk assessments and effective management of fire-related risks.
10. Coordinate all necessary monitoring, checks, and statutory examinations to maintain acceptable safety standards.
11. Oversee activities such as fire alarm/lighting checks, PAT testing, fire extinguisher checks, and LOLER examinations.
12. Oversee the training program, coordinating, delivering, and validating training as needed.
13. Maintain accurate records, including refresher dates.
14. Aid managers in initial health and safety inductions.
