Rate of Pay: £13.40 Location: Llanrwst, Conwy About the Job: To work with a 19 year old woman who has hydrocephalus, epilepsy, scoliosis and global development delay. She has limited mobility (can manage 300 metres at most) and can communicate but can also use Makaton. You will be required to identify activities and volunteering opportunities in and around her home location. Experience of working with people with similar ailments is desirable, but enthusiasm and willingness to learn is also acceptable. Responsible to: You will be directly responsible to your employer, the young woman's guardian. Main Tasks: To support the young woman attending activities in the community i.e., attending learning centres, children nurseries etc. To be pro-active and liaise with your employer regarding potential activities, all to be agreed with both. Assistance with personal care will be required. To ensure a clean and safe environment, giving due regard to Health and Safety at all times Any other duties which may fall within the scope of this role, to be discussed and mutually agreed. Required Qualities: Patient, caring, reliable, with an empathic and trustworthy nature. Enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Able to work flexibly. Person Specification Access to a car with appropriate business insurance cover and full clean driving licence is required. Establish a professional standard of care which should be maintained at all times. Undertake the role with due regard to the service user's physical and psychological needs. Respect and safeguard the goods and property of the family. Respect the privacy of the family and uphold confidentiality at all times. Be punctual, reliable and flexible.
