Role title: Mechanical Supervisor Salary: £36,187 per year Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours Location: BCA Thurleigh Reporting to the Workshop Operations Manager, the individual will play a key role in supervising and leading the Workshop Team. They will assist in ensuring that all technical operations performed by the Workshop team are completed within the contractual SLA’s and lead times and fully comply with RUK quality standards and requirements. This role will have responsibility for a team of Workshop Team Leaders, QC Operatives, OE Operatives and Workshop Technicians. Your key responsibilities will be: Support the Workshop Operations Manager to review and develop scheduling for KDC Workshop Support in the planning and source sub-contract labour as required to meet Daily/Weekly forecasts Lead the Depot’s support to KUK for mandated audits. Carry out internal QC audits of all areas of the business to ensure compliance to and report and present findings to the management team and record systematically. Monitor all Workshop flows to ensure efficiencies are maximised Minimise cost through efficient working practices Identify training needs for all areas of the Workshop Operations Ensure Daily/Weekly & Monthly KPI performance is achieved Control staff holidays to ensure manning levels meet and accommodate forecasted volumes on a daily basis Implement customer policies & Customer requirements within the Workshop Operations Review & monitor Workshop productivity, scheduling, utilisation & efficiencies Hold regular meetings with all Workshop departments to identify any concerns or opportunities e.g. Health & Safety, Productivity, efficiencies etc. Promote a Health & Safety culture within all Workshop Operations Ensure all tooling requirements within the Workshop Operations are met and the maintenance programme for specific tooling is maintained e.g. Torque Wrenches, Diagnostic equipment etc. Ensure accurate records are maintained for training, sickness, holidays, disciplines, welfare and attendance Be active in the development and integration of ISO Stand in for the workshop as and when required. To be successful, you’ll bring some of the following experience with you: You should be self-motivated and flexible with the ability to work well on your own or as a team member and to be customer focussed. A good knowledge of workshop & system operations is also desirable but full training will be provided. Experience in supervising a team Have a flexible attitude towards all Depot activities Ability to work under pressure at Peak periods to meet vehicle ETA’s etc. Prioritisation of tasks and collect information effectively Good computer skills with a knowledge and experience of manufacturers/OEM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
