OUR OPPORTUNITY
SH Hotels & Resorts is seeking an innovative and technically skilled leader to join our team as the Regional Director, Technical Services. This role is essential in ensuring architectural excellence, sustainability integration, and compliance with SH Design and Technical Standards across our EMEA properties. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented project manager who excels at executing Technical Services Agreements (TSA) in collaboration with property owners, consultants, and development teams.
Here’s what we’re currently looking for: Regional Director, Technical Services.
Some of the highlights of experience we’re looking for:
1. Brand Representative for Assigned Projects
o Serve as the primary SH contact for select projects, managing Technical Services Agreements (TSA) per SOP guidelines.
o Oversee TSA meetings with owners, architects, and contractors from project kickoff to construction.
o Coordinate internal document reviews and ensure milestone deliverables are met.
o Provide technical guidance on drawing submissions and specifications.
o Act as the technical lead for internal and external disciplines, including MEP, technology, surveillance, landscaping, lighting, multimedia, kitchen, and laundry consultants.
o Collaborate closely with Interior Design and Food & Beverage teams.
2. Architecture & Sustainability Contribution
o Review and provide input on architectural, building system, and LEED Silver sustainability requirements.
o Support contract evaluations and strategize deviations with the executive team.
o Implement sustainability initiatives to optimize SH Hotels’ carbon footprint.
o Develop reports and recommendations for sustainable building solutions.
o Identify cost-effective, innovative solutions to enhance sustainability without compromising quality.
3. Project Management (During Construction)
o Oversee the construction phase, ensuring alignment with brand standards and project goals.
o Provide regular budget, schedule, and program updates to SH Executive Team.
o Manage submittals, material samples, and routine site walk-throughs with action reports.
o Support punch list resolution, commissioning verification, and final documentation.
4. Standards Management
o Maintain and update all Architecture & Construction Design Standards.
o Oversee content for key standard divisions, including:
o Architectural Design
o TSA Process Documents
o Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP)
o Life & Fire Safety
o Technology & Sustainability Guidelines
5. Sustainability Leadership
o Advocate for LEED Silver certification across projects.
o Conduct sustainability workshops and assist owners in defining project sustainability goals.
o Oversee LEED submittals and technical analysis to maximize energy savings.
o Guide hotels in ongoing green operations, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and sustainable procurement.
o Ensure compliance with Energy Star Portfolio Manager for energy tracking.
o Evaluate carbon offset programs and bulk purchasing agreements for renewable energy.
o Manage sustainability reporting, including carbon and waste tracking across properties.
Must-Have’s and Nice to Have’s
* Passionate about sustainable building and a minimum of 3 years of similar work experience.
* Experience working in the hospitality, real estate development, or luxury brand sectors.
* A post-secondary diploma or degree would be a plus.
* Precise, organized and detail oriented.
* LEED certification and understanding of sustainable design.
* Solid working proficiency with Bluebeam, MS Project and MS Office Suite.
* Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards including IBC, IFC, and NFPA.
* Possess the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment continually assessing priorities and acting quickly with a sense of urgency.
* Excels at communication, both verbal and written.
* Is flexible and willing to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
