Summary
We are looking for an experienced Temporary Accommodation Procurement Officer to join a team based in Camden. This role is vital in securing temporary accommodation for residents in housing need and managing relationships with landlords and accommodation providers.
THE ROLE
As the Temporary Accommodation Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the council has access to a range of temporary accommodation solutions. Your key responsibilities include:
1. Procuring suitable temporary accommodation to meet the council's statutory obligations.
2. Developing and maintaining relationships with private landlords, letting agents, and accommodation providers.
3. Negotiating competitive rental rates and terms to secure cost-effective housing solutions.
4. Ensuring compliance with housing legislation and local policy in securing accommodation.
5. Managing contracts with accommodation providers and ensuring standards are met.
6. Supporting the placement of families and individuals into appropriate temporary housing.
7. Monitoring performance and ensuring value for money in the council's temporary accommodation strategy.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role within housing procurement or property management. Additional requirements include:

9. Experience working with private sector landlords and managing accommodation contracts.
10. Knowledge of housing legislation, particularly related to temporary accommodation.
