Job Title: Payroll/Assistant Accountant
Pure is delighted to partner with an excellent business based in Witham, seeking an experienced Payroll/Assistant Accountant to join their team on a 6-month contract basis.
Responsibilities:
1. Process monthly payroll.
2. Manage the payment run process, including weekly and monthly runs.
3. Ensure bank accounts are reconciled daily.
4. Perform Balance Sheet reconciliations, including reconciling all intercompany balances at month-end and resolving discrepancies.
5. Circulate timesheet analysis regularly and follow up with line managers for incomplete or inaccurate recordings.
6. Maintain subcontractor compliance and apply CIS where applicable.
7. Prepare accurate HMRC submissions such as PAYE, VAT, CIS, and P11D.
8. Support internal and external audit processes.
9. Assist the Finance team with financial analysis as required, supporting the Commercial Finance Manager, Head of Finance, and Finance Director.
10. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team efficiencies.
Requirements:
1. AAT qualification or part-qualified in ACCA/CIMA.
2. Ideally 2+ years of experience in payroll.
3. Experience with Management Accounts.
4. Strong Excel skills.
5. High attention to detail.
6. A proactive, can-do attitude.
7. Excellent communication skills.
