Data Scientist Location: UK, Remote Length: 12 months Rate: £68.00 p/h (Inside IR35) Hours: 40 hours per week Overview: The role is within Data Use: Privacy (PCP) ? Privacy Areas ? Data Use Our (Data Use) purpose is to efficiently and seamlessly manage legal basis positioning and risk for the company so that teams can innovate and meet company goals while maintaining compliance quickly and efficiently. We make and help make fast privacy decisions to unblock innovation. To do this we develop policies and requirements, build and maintain privacy solutions, and build and maintain platforms that accelerate the company to do privacy work faster while maintaining a minimum compliance bar. Responsibilities: Apply knowledge of statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, and make valuable discoveries leading to prototype development and product improvement Use a flexible, analytical approach to design, develop, and evaluate predictive models and advanced algorithms that lead to optimal value extraction from the data Generate and test hypotheses and analyse and interpret the results of product experiments Work with product engineers to translate prototypes into new products, services, and features and provide guidelines for large-scale implementation Provide Business Intelligence (BI) and data visualization support, which includes, but is limited to support for the online customer service dashboards and other ad-hoc requests requiring data analysis and visual support Example Projects: Support the ‘must do’ compliance initiatives e.g. update Privacy Policies / Terms of Service and send related notifications Establish metrics to monitor and improve safeguards to ease future compliance Support experimentation and exploratory analysis to help the team evolve its compliance positions Support Privacy Area level initiatives to increase speed and scalability of Privacy work, e.g. developing tooling so that teams can self-serve regulatory work Why Join Us? Must Haves: 8 years’ experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R) 8 years of experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches, understanding ecosystems, user behaviors & long-term product trends, and leading data-driven projects from definition to execution [including defining metrics, experimenting, designing, and communicating actionable insights] Nice to haves: Experience in Risk Analytics or Compliance Experience in similar Tech organizations (Google, Amazon, Microsoft) Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, a relevant technical field, or equivalent
