The role of the Programme Security Assurance Lead is to plan and coordinate security and compliance activities for a construction programme, drive delivery milestones and identify and manage related risks and issues. The role is tasked by and reports into the Programme but is professionally line managed by the head of the CTPSE Security team.
As a core member of the Programme Leadership Team, the day-to-day responsibilities will see you working alongside Design Consultants to ensure the security aspects of the new site are appropriate to CTPSE needs. This role will be the principal point of contact for security issues across the programme and ensure that all policies, standards and processes are adhered to.
The post-holder will be expected to provide professional advice to the Programme leadership team on all security compliance matters. They will need to be convincing subject matter experts able to advise, influence and support very senior decision makers.
The post-holder is expected to have sufficient knowledge and influence in the wider security/compliance environment to ensure the programme has a voice with those stakeholders which is respected and listened to.
You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. For this reason, a full UK Driving Licence is essential to the role.
Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level DV together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must have resided in the UK for the past ten years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.

Required knowledge/Skills
Essential
1. Understanding and experience of CT Policing and security partners, in the area of Security, Assurance and Compliance.
2. Understanding and experience of security regulation and accreditation in relation to construction projects.
3. Experience of working with NPSA and to NPSA standards (National Protective Security Authority, previously CPNI), ideally with relevant qualifications.
4. A working knowledge of enhanced vetting standards and applying these in the workplace.
5. Physical and IT security compliance expertise, ideally in a policing environment (or similar) and/or a construction programme.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to articulate complex and specialist security information in simple terms, to enable understanding and decision-making for stakeholders including up to a senior level.
Desirable
1. Experience of working with UKNACE, including interpreting the reports and producing “get well” plans.
2. Knowledge and understanding of the APP Code of Practice for vetting.
