Pulse are currently seeking a determined band 8a Clinical Psychologist to be welcomed into our client’s NHS team, based in London. This position will be available for the appointed Clinical Psychologist to start as soon as possible, working full time hours for a 5-month period.
This post involves working within a Multidisciplinary Team, to promote the emotional and physical healthy and wellbeing of children age 5-12 years who are living with excess weight.
The Team consists of a Highly Specialist Family Therapist / Service Lead, Consultant Paediatrician, Specialist Dietician, and Physical Activity Specialist. The team will provide care and support for children affected by excess weight in the community. A systemic biopsychosocial approach is key to the project ethos.
CAMHS Practitioner Role
The role of the CAMHS Practitioner is to provide specialist assessment, formulation and intervention to children and their families, and offer consultation and liaison to the wider network.
1. To provide specialist assessments of children referred to the service in collaboration with family members and others involved in the children’s care.
2. To Formulate and implement plans therapeutic support to promote emotional and physical health.
3. To be responsible for undertaking therapeutic session for children and their carers, families and groups, drawing upon different explanatory models and maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses.
4. To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for assessment, treatment options and discharge planning, taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, family or group.
To provide specialist advice guidance and consultation to other professionals involved in the patient’s care.
To be considered for this role, you must:
1. Hold a doctorate in Clinical Psychology
2. Be HCPC registered
3. Have a proven track record in a camhs role
4. Be analytical and show good attention to detail
5. Have proven record of supervision experience
