The business has built up valuable long-lasting relationships with over 3,000 customers, supplying thousands of UK-based coffee roasters, catering equipment dealers, engineers and other businesses with a range of over 20,000 professional grade espresso equipment products and accessories. This is an exciting time for the business which is committed to maintaining its leading position in the industry, with ambitious growth plans. THE ROLE SALES & MARKETING DIRECTOR The company plans to double in size over the next 3-5 years, while also looking at opportunities to expand into new markets. Due to these growth plans the senior leadership team have identified a need to recruit a Sales & Marketing Director who will be responsible for developing and delivering the growth strategy, in line with business objectives. Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver the sales and marketing strategy in order to double the size of the business Identify new business opportunities and market trends, including the expansion into new markets and products. Analyse sales data and trends to optimise performance and drive sales efficiency Create annual sales and marketing plans, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to ensure goals are met Establish and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders, negotiating major deals, overseeing pricing strategies, sales forecasting, customer acquisition, and retention Communicate market intelligence to the marketing team to facilitate development of marketing campaigns to promote products and services and to enhance the company’s brand and image. Align sales activity with the marketing team to maximise sales and marketing opportunities and ensure consistent messaging throughout all campaign activity Provide strong leadership and establish credibility as a leader, successfully delivering the sales and marketing strategy, ensuring targets for growth and profitability are met or exceeded Build, lead and inspire a high-performing team, ensuring effective recruitment, training and development strategies are in place Devise and implement demanding targets for both sales and customer service teams to improve market share, profit margin and customer satisfaction measures, without compromising quality Represent the company and build relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers, clients and industry partners Skills and Competencies Required Degree educated Strong commercial background in relevant field 5-10 years sales and marketing leadership experience within a comparably sized sales and distribution business Strong commercial leader with P&L experience, with demonstrable track record of growing and developing businesses Experience of identifying, negotiating and securing high value contracts A charismatic leader who clearly demonstrates an ability to empower and motivate a team Exceptional skills in communication, motivation, and interpersonal relations, and able to convey a message that is understandable and relevant, linking business issues, financial results and strategy We are working exclusively with Novo Executive Search on this key appointment.
