ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Develop schematics covering assigned areas of responsibility, and supervise board layouts Participate as a team member on development projects and programs that may include interfacing with contracting houses Perform lab experiments to diagnose bugs and verify hardware and FPGA designs FPGA design, synthesis, place & route, verification and simulation (Verilog and some VHDL) Develop timelines for their work Architectural oversight on a subset of a product development Responsible for development of detailed design specifications Run simulations (Signal Integrity, SPICE) as needed to evaluate design Work with software engineers to refine interfaces between different assemblies Develop Design Specifications for hardware design and enhancements Experiment and prototype of concepts for evaluation, design and verification for Regulatory compliance (CE, UL, EMI/EMC, etc.), Manufacturing (DFM) and Test (DFT). Debug and bring-up of new boards System integration in team environment Trouble shooting test equipment problems Participate in development Specification and development of board test fixtures Participate in project team meetings Some amount of maintenance of existing products is required. This can include everything from part obsolescence to new features QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Master’s Degree preferred but not required. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years’ experience in circuit design, FPGA testing and circuit layout. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not Required): Experience with analog simulations (PSpice) Familiarity with Xilinx ISE/Vivado and Lattice Diamond FGPA design tools Familiarity with ViewSim FPGA simulation tools Familiarity with Matlab KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Must have excellent writing and oral communications skills and high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to independently plan and organize one’s own activities. Must thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced team environment.
