Job Introduction
As Chef Manager at Riverbridge Primary School, Staines, you will take the lead in managing the school kitchen’s food and beverage operations while ensuring financial efficiency. Your leadership will set the tone for your team, fostering a positive and productive work environment. What you’ll do:
* Manage food preparation and service, ensuring high standards.
* Lead, mentor, and train the kitchen team.
* Oversee catering operations, including labour, food, and stock costs.
* Maintain consistent food quality and service standards.
* Develop and enhance menus.
* Conduct regular audits to uphold compliance and excellence.
What we’re looking for:
* Experience in large-scale cooking (100 – 1300 students).
* Ability to follow recipes in a similar setting.
* Previous experience in staff supervision or line management.
* Experience working with fresh produce.
* Strong awareness of health & safety procedures.
* Ability to perform under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
* Professional attitude with a positive leadership style.
* Hold relevant food safety certifications:
o NVQ Level 2
o Level 2 Food Safety Certificate
o Minimum 1 year of hands-on cooking experience (training provided).
