Job Title: Learning and Development Director (12 month contract)

Role Overview:
We are looking for a Learning and Development Director on a maternity cover, for a 12 months fixed term contract. You will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive L&D strategies, tailored to meet the needs of MW in the UK and European regions. This senior leadership position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional management skills, deep understanding of adult learning principles, with the ability to align learning initiatives with commercial objectives. The successful candidate will lead a team of L&D professionals, collaborate with senior stakeholders across departments, and drive initiatives to enhance employee performance, engagement, and retention.
Key Responsibilities:
* Execute the strategic learning and development plan for 2025, aligned with MW goals and objectives, and support on developing the plan for the following year.
* Identify emerging trends and best practices in L&D to continuously enhance programs and initiatives.
* Provide leadership, guidance and mentorship to the L&D team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
* Lead the design, development and implementation of innovative learning programs, including leadership development, technical training, and soft skills development.
* Ensure that learning tools are engaging, relevant, and effectively meet the needs of diverse employee groups.
* Collaborate with senior leadership, HR partners, and department heads to understand learning needs and priorities, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
* Oversee the management of learning technology platforms and tools, including tracking and reporting, and recommending any new advancements.
* Establish KPIs and metrics to assess the effectiveness of learning programs, and analyse data and feedback to make data-driven decisions.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
What you’ll need:
* Proven experience in a senior leadership role in Learning and Development, preferably in a multinational organisation.
* Ideally, prior experience within the advertising industry, and/or a strong commercial mindset with prior experience in learning initiatives around sales growth and emerging technologies.
* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organisational Development, Education, or a related field; Master’s degree is an advantage.
* In-depth knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and learning technology trends.
* Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into effective learning strategies and initiatives.
* Experience in project management, budget management, and vendor management.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and metrics to drive decision-making.
* Professional certifications in learning and development (e.g., CPLP, CPTD, CIPD) are a plus.
* Flexibility to travel occasionally within the UK and Europe as needed.
