Job Overview
One of our commitments is to do our bit for the environment by ensuring we use everything we can, and this role involves the increasingly valuable commodity - sewage and sludge. As a business, we ensure most of our waste is cleaned and safely returned to the rivers. We're increasingly finding innovative green uses for it in farming and energy generation - in fact, we generate some of our own electricity from the sewage we process.
Your role as a tanker driver involves working regular, local routes, driving CAT C and CAT C+E vehicles as required by business needs. You'll be responsible for safely collecting, delivering, and transporting sewage and sludge in vacuum tankers between Severn Trent sites. It's a great role for people who enjoy working outdoors, whatever the weather.
You'll often be working alone, so it's important you're responsible and reliable. It's up to you to assess risks and ensure you're wearing appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment). You'll also need to be computer literate to send emails and log details onto our company systems using a handheld computer.
