Our Landscape Architecture team needs talented Senior Landscape Architects in Highways and Sustainable Transport. We have a diverse portfolio of work in capital funded public realm projects. We are working on significant projects supported by a range of funding sources and we are now seeking enthusiastic applicants with suitable experience for these Senior Landscape Architect roles. About the Job Our team is a key part of the wider Highways and Sustainable Transport service. The Senior Landscape Architects take a lead role in the design and delivery of urban greening improvements associated with major highways projects, active and sustainable travel projects, public open spaces, and a range of community led projects where public realm and green infrastructure opportunities can be optimised. We have projects at all stages of design and construction, working with highly motivated people focused on delivery. These roles help the team provide a highly effective Landscape Architecture service. This includes involvement in managing resources, developing and implementing design policy, and taking a lead role in landscape design from concept through to construction with opportunities to engage with communities and deliver projects on site for the benefit of residents. The roles will also provide input to other departments dealing with Regeneration and Greenspace. In this position you will be motivated to create better places for our residents, working closely with Project Managers and Engineers on a daily basis to deliver exciting projects. About You You must have suitable experience working in public realm design from concept to completion (in particular detailed design), including co-design and engagement with communities. You must have a relevant degree and at least 8 years of experience working in public realm design. You will be a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute or an experienced Associate Member interested in becoming Chartered. You will be self-motivated and keen to work with and contribute to a team environment. You will have excellent communication skills and be confident in engaging with the public, members, colleagues and contractors. You will also have skills in team, workload and budget management. You should have experience of contract management and site supervision using the NEC suite of Contracts. Experience in a similar public sector role would be an advantage.
