We are working with an established Food business in recruiting an Interim Procurement Manager with extensive knowledge of the Global Food Purchasing market.
As the Interim Global Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for leading the sourcing and negotiation on the range of finished goods. Our client's supply base is truly global, with suppliers in 16 countries, across the Far East, North Africa and South America.
You will play a leading role in establishing excellent relationships with the niche supply base, coordinate robust and efficient supply chains and develop procurement strategies that align with the wider business and customer needs.
Responsibilities:
1. Supplier Management: Select and manage suppliers through identification, evaluation, quality control, and risk assessment, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations.
2. Procurement Strategies: Develop and implement global procurement strategies, optimising cost through negotiation of contracts, terms, and pricing.
3. Team Leadership: Mentor and develop a team of buyers to excel in procurement practices and support strategic objectives.
Experience required:
1. Global procurement experience, ideally within the Food, FMCG or Finished Goods industry.
2. Management of global suppliers, ensuring optimisation of driving value and supply chain efficiency, building healthy relationships and ensuring continuous flow.
3. Team management experience, developing junior members of the team and responsible for coaching and mentoring their progression.
Our client is based in Surrey and will require 4 days in the office a week, Fridays WFH.
This is an initial short term assignment c. 2/3 months.
