Job overview
An exciting opportunity is available within the ADHD Sefton Service to support the team. The post holder will provide comprehensive and professional secretarial support, ensuring a high level of accuracy to the Community Services Division. The post holder is expected to work closely with the services to type clinical correspondence in a timely manner while maintaining confidentiality.
Main duties of the job
1. Promote effective liaison with other services regarding clinical correspondence.
2. Exchange sensitive information with diplomacy and confidentiality.
3. Provide accurate, non-clinical advice relating to queries.
4. Liaise with clinical and non-clinical staff to resolve issues.
5. Attend and contribute to departmental/team meetings.
6. Ensure all transcriptions produced are of an excellent standard.
7. Transcribe clinical correspondence when required.
8. Work flexibly to meet service needs.
9. Exercise judgement to manage workload effectively.
10. Ensure timely transcription of clinical correspondence.
11. Support the organization of clinical teams.
12. Review workloads regularly and prioritize urgent tasks.
13. Order and receive general office stationery and equipment.
14. Mentor new staff as required.
15. Perform general office duties including calls and correspondence.
16. Provide appropriate clinical information as needed.
17. Work autonomously within the remit of the role.
18. Maintain the dignity and confidentiality of service users.
19. Adhere to the Trust’s Equality and Diversity Strategy.
Person specification
Qualifications
* RSA III or equivalent
* Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office
* AMSAPAR Diploma or equivalent experience
Knowledge/ Experience
* Experience as a medical secretary
* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Flexible working approach
* Experience in a healthcare setting
Skills
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Ability to maintain confidentiality
* Ability to prioritize tasks within timescales
