Job Description:
Position One: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant
Employment Type: Temp-Perm and Straight Perm options.
We are currently seeking several full-time Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants and Support Workers to join our partnership group. Our partnership group caters for a SEN school and residential home for young people and adults, supporting students aged 5-19 and young adults from 19 years and above.
The cohort of students and residents experience a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Global Developmental Delay (GDD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with Senior Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) and Teachers to prepare resources that meet the individual learning objectives of assigned students.
* Provide 1:1 support, under the supervision of the senior leadership teams, for skills-based learning.
* Track and report on individuals' progress using evidence-based methods, in collaboration with the senior staff members.
* Facilitate learning by understanding their goals and targets, encouraging the practice of new skills, and promoting independence.
* Provide comprehensive support to ensure the well-being and engagement of students in learning.
* Provide support for all students and residents across both sites, where natural integration will happen across the day.
* To provide personal care and support with physical interventions when required, for all individuals with physical disabilities.
* Adhere to Safeguarding policies and procedures to maintain a safe learning environment.
Requirements:
* Minimum GCSE qualifications in English and Maths.
* Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is preferred but not required.
* A genuine desire to work with children and young adults that are vulnerable and require additional support.
* Flexibility and willingness to work with the whole cohort to support and manage the day-to-day running of the school and residential home.
* Proactive mindset to take initiative; successful candidates hit the ground running and can use their own initiative without needing too much guidance.
* Strong organisational skills to manage tasks efficiently.
* Prioritisation skills to handle multiple responsibilities.
