Reporting to the Head of Legal, Commercial Contracts, you will work alongside senior colleagues to deliver a trusted, valued, and high-quality legal service for commercial contracts and outsourcing agreements. This is a wide-ranging opportunity to really feel part of our business and get involved in strategic contracts and partnerships delivering new services and technology to meet both our evolving business and customers’ needs. You will (under the supervision and with the support of senior colleagues): Provide accurate, timely and commercially pragmatic legal advice which balances the interests of the Society and the group against business objectives. Lead in a collaborative manner with various business units on the drafting, negotiation and completion of commercial contracts and regulated outsourcing agreements. Deal with other contract management issues and queries and in particular support and add value to the procurement function with any contract work connected with the management of suppliers for the Society and the group. Support the Head of Legal, Commercial Contracts and other team members in managing and collating contract know-how and creating contract precedents, templates and process documents as required by the Society and the group. What Do We Need From You? Experience of drafting and negotiating commercial contracts either in-house or in private practice. Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly on complex legal issues (both verbal and written) to direct/influence and persuade others. You will be a qualified solicitor in England & Wales with between 1 and 3 years post qualification experience.
