Part time - Shifts over 1400-2000
The newly formed Urgent Treatment Centre at BNHH will register an average of 700 patients per week. The department is open 16 hours a day, from 0800-0000, 365 days per year. In accordance with DOH guidelines, all patients attending the department should be seen, treated and discharged or admitted within 4 hours of arrival.
The UTC is an extremely busy department. All staff working in this area will be exposed to blood and other bodily fluids. All staff will be frequently exposed to a highly challenging environment and will be expected to manage difficult situations and support each other, although reporting and support mechanisms are in place. Staff must be aware that they will be exposed to face-to-face aggression.
Responsibilities:
1. Greeting all patients that attend the UTC ensuring they are registered in a prompt and professional manner.
2. Providing administrative support to the nursing and clinical staff on duty.
3. Ensuring that clinical coding is correct.
4. Managing arriving pre-booked appointments.
5. Photocopying and scanning all attendance information.
6. Portraying a professional image at all times.

3. Excellent communication skills to liaise with a number of internal and external agencies, such as Mental Health teams, Police, 111 Services, Social Services etc.
These positions work 365 days a year including weekends and bank holidays.
