Job Description
You will primarily be responsible for electrical and/or mechanical technician support to the site teams and repair centres based in Portsmouth but with the opportunity to travel worldwide as required by the Field Service Engineering Leader. In addition, you will carry out installation, maintenance, modifications and material control functions for marine service projects and assist with the construction of power conversion equipment sub-assemblies.
In this role you will focus on:
* Following defined procedures to build, refurbish or repair power conversion equipment sub-assemblies.
* Inspecting GE supplied equipment before delivery, in storage and after installation. You will also carry out planned maintenance before, during and after commissioning.
* Visiting customer vessels to carry out planned maintenance and assist Field Engineers with breakdowns.
* Panel wiring modifications and remedial work, upgrade installation on GE supplied equipment.
* Complying with both company and customer EHS policies and procedures
* Assisting GE commissioning engineers.
* Assisting with stores control and movement of material on/off site.
We are looking for a committed and professional individual with:
* Electrical technicians certificate, mechanical technicians certificate or equivalent, from a reputable College.
* Practical engineering background.
* Good communication skills both verbal and written in English.
* Ability to use basic computer software.
* A recognised health and safety training.
* Full clean driving license
* Flexibility around working patterns in accordance with the Business needs.

Additional Information:
For this role, you will:
* Need to be a British national to be eligible due to the sensitive nature of the work.
* Have to already possess or have the ability to obtain MoD Security Clearance.
* Need to meet required medial standard for offshore work and sea survival.
* Need to partake in helicopter underwater escape training.
* Need to be comfortable working at site and at sea during ship servicing and repair at short notice.
