Waste Services have an exciting opportunity as a Waste Delivery Project Officer leading critical infrastructure projects, with £10m already committed, to build resilient and efficient Waste facilities equipped for future demands. We’re seeking a dynamic project manager with engineering expertise to join our team and deliver this transformative programme.
About the Role
You’ll lead key projects, including:
Delivering a new, modern Waste Transfer Station.
Leading significant modifications to 5 existing Waste Transfer Stations.
Innovating interim solutions to meet evolving legislative requirements.
Beyond project delivery, you’ll use asset management principles and technical know-how to ensure efficient and considered maintenance of 5 Waste Transfer Stations and 11 Household Waste Recycling Centres. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on project management, working closely with our Operations team to ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Environment Agency standards.
What We’re Looking For
We need a results-driven professional with:
Strong project management expertise and a track record of delivering complex projects.
Paying close attention to detail to ensure designs, calculations, and solutions are error-free.
Experience in facility design, planning permissions, site supervision, and budget management.
Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills.
You’ll thrive in a challenging, agile environment, adept at building relationships with internal teams, district partners, and senior officers while inspiring your project team to achieve success.

Our team is structured for efficiency and collaboration. You'll work alongside one other Waste Delivery Project Officer, each supported by a dedicated Waste Delivery Project Assistant. Together, you’ll report to the Waste Operations and Infrastructure Manager, forming a dynamic group focused on delivering impactful projects and maintaining high-performance waste infrastructure.
