This is an opportunity for a person to work as a Medical Laboratory Assistant to work in a busy department which provides a full range of clinical and diagnostic services to NHS Tayside and North-east Fife. The Blood Sciences Department is based on two sites at Ninewells Hospital, a large Teaching hospital and Medical School, Dundee and Perth Royal Infirmary, Perth. You will be in a post that rotates through Core Automation, including Pre-analytical areas, also Specialist Sections, namely, Haematology and Biochemistry. You will also be expected to support the professional scientific staff in delivering the analytical services and to carry out general laboratory duties, and to assist with the preparation and receipt of patient samples for analysis. Previous experience and employment in a hospital environment is desirable, but not essential. Occasional Public Holiday working will be required You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
