About Us:
At Steris AST we are the trusted experts in neutral sterilization offering includes radiation and gas technologies.
We offer electron beam, gamma, X-ray, ethylene oxide and vaporized hydrogen peroxide technologies for the purpose of product sterilization. Whether that product be a single use medical instrument, a hospital environment, cosmetics and toiletries, or food products, we make sure that everything that makes its way to an end user is safe for use or consumption.
What is involved
Quality
1. Adhere to quarantine process in line with defined procedures.
2. Label customer products, place dosimetry on customer products inline with current SOPs.
3. Ensure all forms are completed to the required standards.
4. Alert the Team Leader / Production Supervisor to any process, job-related problems or discrepancies.
5. Follow procedures to ensure compliance with product segregation standards.
6. Strict adherence to Site GMP Quality Standards.
7. Assist in Non-conformance and root cause analysis investigations and reporting.
8. Record all damage contained and reported using site procedures.
9. Reading Dosimetry.
Operational:
1. Completion of run sheets.
2. Record and monitor consumable stocks.
3. Contact support services such as Maintenance, IT, QA and Management in the event of Plant faults when appropriate.
4. Adhere to processing schedule/paperwork requirements.
Delivery
1. Loading and unloading of Customer product from trailers using a forklift truck.
2. Loading and unloading of totes (Auto Plant).
3. Assist in updating Plant SQDC boards and attend daily PIT meetings.
4. Identify, verify and label customer’s product and place the correct dosimeters/BIs as defined in standard operating procedures.
5. Process all Customer’s product in line with processing parameters and any special instructions.
6. Assist in the handover ensuring all relevant records and standards are adhered to.
7. Constantly improve the Site 5S Standards as part of the team.
8. Assist in regular planned 5S Audits and action follow up.
9. Complete standard work daily, weekly and monthly.
10. Ensure cleaning of areas to specified standards are completed at the end of each shift and cleaning register completed daily.
11. Carry out secondary duties as per site internal procedures.
12. Count and record consumable stock daily, highlighting to site management when re-order point levels have been reached.
13. Share responsibility for the security of the premises and Customer goods.
14. Identify and report safety concerns using site procedure and escalate to the appropriate Supervisor.
15. Wear appropriate PPE throughout the shift.
16. Report all SOV COSHH product not as per current Site Regulation.
17. Conduct and report regular safety checks (DataPro & STOP Observations).
18. Assist with site security, including visitors on site and activation and deactivation of alarms.
19. Record and report any incidents to Site Management inline with ERP.

1. Ensure that all tasks are performed with due recognition of safety and environmental risks, maintaining equipment and wearing protective clothing at all times, as appropriate.
2. Undertake required training, as directed.
3. Work with a ‘One Team One Goal’ mentality with all levels within the business.
4. Support colleagues in their roles by ensuring best practices are shared and communicated.
5. Deputise for the Team Leader when appropriate, or as directed.
Required Experience
1. Experience in a similar operational role in a manufacturing business (production unit or plant).
2. Ability to train, develop and mentor employees.
3. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. Proficient with MS Office suite.
