W&A is working with a public sector institution in Edinburgh to recruit a Finance Change Consultant for a 6-month contract. This is a key role supporting the finance function during a period of transition following the implementation of a new reporting system.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Overseeing month-end financial control, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
2. Driving process improvements in month-end close procedures and financial controls.
3. Supporting the finance team as they transition to a new reporting tool.
4. Engaging with Internal Audit & the Audit & Risk Committee, providing key financial insights.
5. Assisting with year-end audit preparation and liaising with external auditors.
About You:
1. Qualified Accountant (or equivalent experience) with a strong financial management background.
2. Strong controls mindset with the ability to enhance financial processes.
3. Exposure to finance change projects, supporting system and process transformations.
4. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with team leadership experience.
