Our client, a leading medical records warehouse at a renowned hospital in Bedford, is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Scanning Operator/Team Leader Cover to join their dynamic team. This is a temporary, full-time position with an immediate start date. Working 2pm- 10pm Monday- Friday.
As a Scanning Operator, you will play a crucial role in efficiently scanning and preparing medical records. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Ensuring the correct batch header sheets or "intelligent bar codes" are used to prepare event notes for scanning, following guidelines.
2. Operating high-resolution scanners to meet quality standards, ensuring all scanned images are of good quality.
3. Monitoring the quality of scanned images and making necessary amendments when needed.
4. Collecting event notes according to priority and scan receipt schedules.
5. Regularly cleaning and maintaining scanning devices, promptly reporting any issues to the Team Leader.
6. Completing quality assurance processes according to established standards.
7. Assisting with general inquiries and providing support to new staff members.
8. Participating in mandatory training to uphold service standards.
To thrive in this role, you should have the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Sensitivity and experience in handling medical records are crucial, as well as a solid understanding of case note structure and current documentation filing policies. IT literacy, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel, is essential. If you are willing to undergo training to operate high-resolution scanners and handheld scanners effectively, this role is for you.
Please note that this is a fast-paced and target-driven position, requiring excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
In addition to the Scanning Operator responsibilities, you will also be responsible for covering the team leader role as needed. This will involve training new staff, monitoring productivity, fixing any work returned from quality assurance, and ensuring an adequate workflow for scanners, among other duties, so experience in a team leader role is essential.
Our client offers discounted parking for individuals living over 5 miles from the hospital and will provide two weeks of comprehensive training. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of a highly regarded medical records warehouse.
