Nightingale House Hospice is seeking an experienced Spiritual Care Coordinator/Hospice Chaplain to join the Family Support Team. You will be an effective communicator with effective interpersonal skills and be able:
1. To provide excellent spiritual care across the organisation for patients and those close to them, staff and volunteers in a variety of settings across the catchment area for Nightingale House Hospice.
2. To work alongside the clinical multi-disciplinary team to support the delivery of a high standard of evidence-based holistic palliative care.
3. To assist with devising and implementing strategies that develop Nightingale House's spiritual support services within its palliative care provision and contribute to the growth of the wider team.
4. Supervise and support Spiritual Care Volunteers, ensuring a standard of care is provided across all hospice services.
5. Ensure spiritual care is offered as an integral and culturally sensitive part of a holistic approach to health, encompassing psychological, spiritual, and emotional care within the framework of the patients' and those close to them's beliefs or philosophy of life.
6. You will need to have excellent organisational skills and an appreciation of the need for flexibility and a pro-active approach to working in all aspects of your role, while working collaboratively with other professionals to promote and develop the Spiritual Care services available to those accessing hospice services, staff, and the wider community.
7. Your passion to work holistically with those accessing services, along with your understanding of the social, psychological, and spiritual needs of individuals and families facing life-limiting illness, death, and bereavement, will ensure your ability to work closely and effectively with colleagues from the multi-disciplinary team, providing expert advice and training that encourages and empowers the delivery of spiritual care within clinical services.
8. Your skillset and experience will ensure your ability to enhance the Family Support Team's approach to provide bereavement support to those referred to the service and provide enhanced support to those connected with hospice services who are anticipating death and loss.
