As a Regional Environmental Compliance Program Manager for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, you will be managing the full spectrum of regulatory environmental requirements, including Federal, State, and local regulations with emphasis on air, water, waste management and water quality permitting, with a fundamental understanding of environmental management systems. Additionally, you will identify environmental aspects and ensure Microsoft data centers remain in full compliance, communicate these requirements to all stakeholders and senior management, and provide training online and/or in person.
This opportunity will allow you to actively participate in a dynamic, challenging, and exciting environment. You will be working independently in-region and will represent Microsoft to our external and internal customers. This position requires you to work on location, in one of our data centers in the Europe, Middle East or Africa (EMEA) region, with occasional travel to other locations.
Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a Regional Environmental Compliance Program Manager, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field AND 6+ years experience in Environmental Health and Safety Worldwide RegulationsOR equivalent experience.

2. Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
While not required, we also look for the following Preferred Qualifications:
3. 6+ years of combined experience in environmental permitting and compliance management in EMEA.
4. Experience with Enhesa, Regscan, EIA Tracker, Enablon, Intelex or similar tools.
Responsibilities
5. Manage environmental compliance program for operating sites and handover of construction projects to operations.
6. Support operations personnel in completing regulatory obligations and addressing permit requirements.
7. Interact with facility personnel, company management, legal counsel, environmental sustainability team, and other relevant internal stakeholders to communicate environmental requirements, identify compliance issues, act as a technical resource, and coordinate on key initiatives.
8. Define and implement necessary training for facility operations personnel for managing environmental issues.
9. Support site incident investigations.
10. Interact with regulatory agency personnel on major environmental issues.
11. Monitor development of legislative changes in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, analyze potential impacts on operations, and provide updates to the site personnel.
