How You'll Make An Impact Create and optimise machining programs by developing efficient and error-free G & M code from drawings or design models. Set up and operate both manual and CNC lathes and milling machines, writing and testing programs, and making vital adjustments to achieve the desired precision. Work closely with engineers and various departments to develop prototype compression mould tools, provide feedback, and support quick turnaround or rework requests as needed. Analyse CAD models or engineering specifications to resolve appropriate tools and the most efficient sequence of tool operations. Support rapid prototyping and reworking parts efficiently, balancing speed with precision to meet engineering and production deadlines. Perform regular maintenance, identify machine issues, and complete minor repairs to ensure optimal machine performance. What You Bring Proven experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated, or automated machines (lathes, mills, etc.) from drawings and/or models. Understanding of CNC G & M code. Apprenticeship or vocational training preferred, with tried experience as a machinist. Good digital literacy, with a familiarity with Autodesk Fusion or equivalent (from CAD to CAM). Solid understanding of safety protocols. Strong attention to detail and focus on quality, with the ability to follow detailed processes and instructions.
