About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Quantity Surveyor to join our thriving construction business. This is a key role involving cost management, financial forecasting, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will work closely with the Managing Director and project teams to ensure the smooth and efficient running of all aspects of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cost Management:
1. Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
2. Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
3. Perform risk and value management and cost control.
4. Analyze outcomes and write detailed progress reports.
5. Value completed work and arrange payments.
6. Maintain meticulous records.
2. Project Management:
1. Assist in the planning and coordination of projects from conception to completion.
2. Collaborate with clients, architects, and internal teams.
3. Develop and manage project budgets.
4. Monitor progress, addressing potential delays, and implementing solutions.
5. Conduct site visits.
3. Financial Management:
1. Prepare and analyze costings for tenders.
2. Track project expenses.
3. Contribute to project budgets and financial reports.
4. Identify cost-saving opportunities.
5. Agree client payment schedules and invoice accordingly.
4. Client Communication:
1. Build and maintain strong client relationships.
2. Provide regular cost updates and reports.
3. Address client concerns related to project costs.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the construction industry with experience in restoration and renovation projects.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant construction software.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* A good understanding of construction methods, materials, and UK building regulations.
* Ability to understand architectural drawings.
* Valid driver's license.
