An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Community Mental Health Team, based in Bridgwater for an experienced secretary to provide comprehensive secretarial, administrative and support service to the Consultant, medical team and department. To include daily supervision and support to other administration colleagues ensuring that high standards are maintained.

As part of our Community Mental Health Team, you can take part (or not) in team days/nights out, sweep stakes and 'secret Santa', as well as other activities!!
Main duties of the job
* Communicate with patients, colleagues; internal and external. This will be via telephone, email and face to face.
* Deal with day to day correspondence, including typing clinical letters and corresponding with GPs
* Receive telephone calls, accepting messages on behalf of members of the specialty team, taking appropriate action where necessary
* Prioritise own work efficiently and effectively, highlighting any issues to the Band 4
* Type all forms of clinical correspondence as dictated by medical staff, by use of audio or copy typing.
* Providing supervision and support to the admin team.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Diploma level/NVQ/Apprenticeship 3 in Business Administration or equivalent
* RSA Stage III or equivalent typing/word processing including audio typing
* Level 3 Leadership & Management or willing to work towards
* AMSPAR Diploma (Medical administration)
* Supervision training
Experience
* Experience of working at a senior secretarial level.
* Experience of dealing with sensitive and distressing issues.
* Knowledge of and experience of advanced use of Microsoft office applications namely Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint.
* Experience of setting up and maintaining office systems.
* Experience of dealing with multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies.
