Public Protection Partnership PPP is a shared environmental heath, licensing and trading standards service for Bracknell Forest and West Berkshire in Berkshire. We are seeking a Licensing Enforcement Officer to work in a team of four staff including the Lead Licensing officer who manages the day to day direction and workloads of officers under the Licensing Team Manager. Licensing has a pivotal function in for both Councils in the shared service and you will be contributing to ensure effective licensing enforcement and compliance within our diverse and vibrant community. In addition, you will help the team prepare policies to ensure the priorities of the service are met. We offer a unique and dynamic working environment across Boroughs. Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Licensing Team As a Licensing Enforcement Officer, you will be responsible for: Conducting inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with licensing requirements, particularly in relation to premises licences and club premises certificates. Taking appropriate enforcement action, including issuing warnings, notices, and preparing cases for prosecution. Providing advice and guidance to licence holders and applicants on licensing requirements. Collaborating with other regulatory services, such as trading standards and environmental health, to address issues of non-compliance. Preparation of report and attending hearings and providing support to the Lead Licensing Officer - Enforcement in presenting cases to the Licensing Committee. Attendance at Court as required. Maintaining accurate records and producing detailed reports on enforcement activities. The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications, skills and attributes: Experience working in a licensing enforcement role, ideally within a local authority environment. Sound knowledge of licensing legislation, particularly the Licensing Act 2003 and associated regulations. Strong investigative skills, with the ability to gather evidence and prepare comprehensive case files. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders. Ability to work independently, prioritising tasks and managing a varied workload. Team player, able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and other regulatory services. Driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
