Safety Compliance Engineer (EMC/Product Safety)

Safety compliance engineering for our range of audio electronics products. This role will take the lead on the compiling of test reports and documentation. Checking product design safety criteria. Liaison with external Safety/EMC agencies.

Hours of Work: 37.5 Hours per Week

JOB SUMMARY
A competent Mechanical Design Engineer and Project Manager; capable of innovative design and attention to detail in a motivated design team and delivering project plans and objectives.
KEY DUTIES
* Check approvals of new & alternative safety critical components.
* Assist distributors regarding safety queries and provide support for local safety approvals.
* Issue Declaration of Conformity documents (e.g., CE, FCC, PSTI, UKCA).
* Update website Legal & regulatory section (e.g., upload D of Cs).
* Upload compliance documentation to A&H Resource Space.
* Update safety instruction booklets (e.g., add new languages & regulatory clauses).
* Update A&H critical component list & upload safety documentation to Purchase Parts directory.
* Compile safety approval information including application forms and diagrams for submission to testing agencies (i.e., Intertek or UL).
* Resolve safety agency queries & non-compliances.
* Check draft safety reports.
* Get product designs (artworks) updated for approval.
* Check safety of PCBs (i.e., tracking creepages & clearances).
* Compile annual ETL list of unlisted components.
* Issue annual POs for ETL number license.
* Issue ECNs regarding safety.
* Check & sign ECNs for safety.
* Prepare product range for issue 4 62368-1 safety updates.
* Check new & alternative power supply approvals.
* Battery regulations.
* Compile annual battery data.
* Assist sales department with battery shipping queries.
QUALIFICATIONS
HND/Degree in Electronic Engineering or an equivalent related qualification in Engineering/Physics.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
Safety compliance approvals for electronic products.
Electro-Magnetic Compatibility compliance testing and conformity.
EMC test measurements: immunity and radiated.
Documentation and report preparation of EMC results.
Preparation of design and component data for product safety testing.
ATTRIBUTES
Able to work unsupervised using own initiative and understanding to solve problems.
Able to work well within a team, utilising other team members' skills to enhance the overall performance of the department to a greater level than if each member worked individually.
Ability to collate report data accurately and quickly with high attention to detail.
Ability to work at a high standard in a formal testing environment.
