We have an exciting opportunity for a Peer Mentor Coordinator at our HMP Five Wells Resettlement Service. Our focus is to facilitate recovery, reinforce hope and support lifestyle change with prisoners engaging with our service.
Where: Wellingborough, East Midlands
Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week
Full Time Salary : £27,449.52- £31,529.41 (Pro Rata for part time hours)
Contract Type: 12 month Fixed Term Contract or happy to consider secondments for internal staff.
Responsibilities
What we are looking for:
1. Experience of or the proven ability to manage and supervise peer mentors/volunteers.
2. Evidence of a commitment to service user involvement and development.
3. Experience of developing and delivering training packages or group work programmes.
4. Proven leadership skills.
5. Experience of contributing to project development.
6. Experience of auditing to inform evaluation and service development.
7. Experience of working within substance misuse or criminal justice services.
8. Understanding of the need for and ability to deliver quality services.
9. Experience of risk assessment and risk management procedures.
10. Experience of working effectively with external agencies.
11. Knowledge of the issues facing substance misusers and offenders, their families, and carers.
12. Demonstrate an understanding of Equal Opportunities and Diversity.
13. Demonstrable administrative and IT skills.
14. Maintain professional boundaries.
15. Train peer mentors to support offenders in the community.
16. Ability to recruit, train and induct peer mentors and volunteers
17. Knowledge of local services and geography.
18. Experience of recruitment processes and procedures.
19. Experience of delivering Supervisions and 1-2-1s
