Balfour Beatty Living Places is actively recruiting a Bid Manager to resecure our long-term contracts and submit bids to new clients (up to the value of £1bn). As the Bid Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in assembling and leading a bid team equipped with the necessary skills to create winning proposals in the Highways Maintenance Market.
To lead, manage and co-ordinate all aspects of a bid and develop high quality, competitive proposals that are delivered to the customer in a manner consistent with the Balfour Beatty values and governance.
What you'll be doing
As a Bid Manager, you will have the following accountabilities:
* Develop and agree bid strategy with senior management to secure pipeline opportunities
* Lead the pursuit of bids from early engagement and tender through to handover and operations
* Responsible for bid budgets, programmes and quality of our tenders
* Manage compliance with processes and ensure quality standards are maintained across the team(s), recommending improvements where necessary
* Oversee the establishment, production, and implementation of bid management processes
* Build a compelling network of customer relationships with the key decision-makers for customers
* Manage, coach, and develop talented teams to deliver high performance.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
* Ability to lead multi-disciplinary bid teams
* An organised, innovative, creative and experienced Work Winning professional
* Able develop relationships with customers
* Able to work effectively with operational teams to create compelling offers to our customers
* Excellent time management skills (achieving high standards within short timeframes).
Desired qualities:
* Experience of highways maintenance and/or other engineering disciplines.
