The Jamie Oliver Group is growing. In spring 2025, we’re launching a flagship cookery school and cafe with John Lewis & Partners in their Oxford Street store! As such, our team is expanding, and we’re looking to grow our Front of House team.
You’re here to be a part of the best-in-class cafe and cookery school. As a Kitchen Porter, you will be responsible for providing great back-of-house support to the Cookery School and Cafe teams by ensuring that deliveries and used equipment are all dealt with quickly and efficiently, as well as helping with some basic food prep. You’ll be part of a team driven to make us the best Cafe on Oxford Street and the best Cookery School in the U.K.
Assisting Teaching and Cafe chefs:
* Help the Teaching chefs set up and clean down their classes.
* Assist Cafe chefs and Teaching chefs with food prep and closing down.
* Assist with all deliveries and maintain a clean and well-organised storage and fridges.
* Be responsible for Goods In and maintain a clean and well-organised food stores and fridges.
* Support with the completion of daily kitchen documentation.
* Understanding of assigned task standards set out by the teaching team and company procedures
Cleanliness excellence:
* Be responsible for efficient waste management and disposal.
* Basic understanding of a plate and pot wash service area
* Maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and upkeep of equipment
* Ensure daily, weekly and monthly cleaning duties are carried ensuring the company cleaning guide is followed as instructed by the teaching team and other managers.
Food Safety, Hygiene & Health and Safety:
* Maintain the required Health and Safety and Jamie’s standards.
* Work to the highest Food Safety Standards.
* Follow all HACCP and COSHH guidelines and health and safety requirements and complete the relevant paperwork.
* Hygiene and presentation. You’ll have a high level of respect and care for the businesses, and your own hygiene and presentation.
