Job summary
Heacham Group Practice has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis for approximately 16 hours per week.
The receptionist plays a pivotal role in the experience of patients at our practice, helping them to access the right services and dealing with their queries face-to-face, online and by telephone.
General practice is a challenging environment that requires a calm and caring approach with the ability to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who has customer service/patient experience and offers excellent communication skills.
Main duties of the job
1. Greeting and directing all patients. Answering telephones and patient requests via e-mail and our online services.
2. Making appointments.
3. Answering queries and complaints from patients and outside agencies, signposting to the appropriate staff member as appropriate.
4. Accepting, issuing and handing out prescriptions, letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc.
5. Advising patients of practice procedures.
6. Accurately record information in patients records and appointment system in accordance with practice procedures.
About us
We are a small friendly GP practice with two surgeries at Heacham and Snettisham serving approximately 7,500 patients.
Our clinical team includes 3 GP partners, 2 salaried GPs and a very skilled nursing team including nurse practitioners, specialist nurses and HCAs. We are a training practice for GP registrars.
We are offering a salary depending on experience and NHS pension.
