We are currently looking for a Housing Officer to work with a social justice charity.
You will work within the Performance and Housing Management Team and be responsible for providing comprehensive housing management and estate services for our Supported Housing.
You will be the main lead for housing management in your patch and will support vulnerable residents. To do this, you will need to work closely with area teams.
This is a home-based role with some travel.
Your duties will include:
1. Monitoring of all rent accounts, both current and former arrears and credit accounts in your patch.
2. Taking direct action where arrears are accruing in line with the Income Collection and Debt Management Policy and liaising with Support or Housing Management Workers when their support is needed.
3. Engaging with Housing Benefit to ensure correct levels of Housing Benefit are in payment for the right dates and at the correct level, liaising with their Welfare Benefit Advisor for any complex cases.
4. Liaising with internal staff and external stakeholders as needed.
5. Joint visits or phone appointments with support/housing management workers where residents need assistance with money matters, debt management, benefits, reaching an arrangement, or pre-court, and to guide and advise support workers on best practices.
6. Issuing Social Services invoices or raising due amounts on social services systems.
You will be required to have an enhanced DBS Certificate dated in the previous 12 months or on the updates service.
You will also need to have a full UK driving license, access to your own vehicle, and business insurance.
Hours: Mon - Fri 9-5pm, 40 working hours, 35 paid, 5 hours lunch unpaid.
Pay: £14.55ph PAYE, £19.01ph Umbrella.
This is a temp ongoing role to start ASAP.
